Istanbul

After spending two painstaking days of (slow) hitching in constant rain I had enough and took an evening bus from Alexandroupoli to Istanbul. It was once again very enjoyable to roam around this massive city, and take it easy a bit after all the traveling.

One of the Bosporus ferries with in the back the Galata tower in Taksim.
The little 'girl tower' island in the Bosporus.
Some of the mosques of Sultanahmet (the old town).
The ancient HaydarpaÅŸa trainstation on the Asian side of the Bosporus, build in 1871.
The awesome view from the apartment of my second host; it's seven floors up, no elevator!
Once you cross the Bosporus to the Asian side, the world starts getting smaller...
