Batumi

Moving from Turkey into Georgia means getting away from Islamic influence and into former Sovjet territory. The change in culture and people is quite striking; welcome back to sovjet appartment blocks, shorts, skirts and alcohol.

Batumi is largely under reconstruction, with quite some streets away from the center still consisting of temporary pebbles. The parts that are finished look beautiful though.
