Tbilisi

Coming down from the mountain I stayed in Tbilisi for a couple of days, relaxing in the hostel, checking out the city, it’s surroundings and the sulfur baths, and making some day trips to sights around it.

A view on the city from the castle; in view the presidential palace (glass Reichstag-like dome) and the new freedom bridge and park.
Freedom square with the dragon being slayed by St. George in front of the city hall.
I tagged along with a group of Polish people for a day trip to the monastery of David Gareja on the border with Azerbaijan.
The monastery is partly housed in caves and lies on the ridge which forms the border with Azerbaijan.
Hiking up that hill gives a far stretching view over the plains of Azerbaijan!
