Shiraz

The busride from Bushehr to Shiraz took 6 hours, which we did during the day for once. This turned out to be a good choice since the highway went through more beautiful mountains. We stayed only shortly in Shiraz and spend the better part of the day going to Persepolis, the ancient Persian capital 70 km outside of Shiraz.

Arriving in the late afternoon in Shiraz the first thing we noticed was that it was not as hot anymore. So we walked for over an hour to get some exercise after being driven everywhere by car for the past days.
The view from the hill on the massive complex of Persepolis.
Here it was hot again, so I was again happy with my ridicilus hat!
Iranians love to picknick; especially on Thursday evening (Thu/Fri is the Islamic weekend) and preferably on grass next to busy highways for some reason...
