Yangshou

The weather started to get colder in Shanghai, which prompted me to take a train South to Guilin and go to the little town of Yangshou in Guangxi province. It was good to be back in nature after a lot of time in cities, and spend time cycling and hiking around the Karst mountain formations.

Combine those mountains with a small river and you get some truly superb scenery.
The beauty of Yangshou brings in a lot of tourists, making the 'bamboo raft' tours big business. Staying in a guesthouse out of town and going about on a mountain it was easy to escape the tourist busses though.
