Hong Kong

The end of the line… The last stop in China was Shenzhen where I met up with a friend, then I made the interesting border crossing into Hong Kong; which entails taking the metro to the final stop, going upstairs and through customs and getting into the HK Metro. Four days in Hong Kong went by quickly and before long I found myself in a check-in line for the flight back to Amsterdam.

Hong Kong's famous Star Ferry, which was the sole public transport between Hong Kong Island and the peninsula of Kowloon up until 1972.
Hong Kong Island sports these very cool double decker trams that you can ride from end to end for just E 0,25.
To make it easier for pedestrians there is a network of walkways, with stores and restaurants, one level up on Hong Kong Island.
Due to the limited space Hong Kong is very densely build with high rise after high rise.
Children gawking at the foreigners gawking at the outfits of the children.
Tropical forest around Victoria Peak
The stunning view from Victoria Peak (if only for the weather..).
Hong Kong's surrounding islands offer a chance to escape the busy city.
Final sunset of the trip during the last flight leg: Brussels - Amsterdam.
